Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist currently competing in the flyweight division of UFC. Valentina is her older sister and a fellow UFC competitor. Antonina Shevchenko first began fighting sports by becoming an Muay Thai boxer. Shevchenko made her debut at the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals by unanimous verdict. Antonina kept her winning streak going by taking home bronze and silver medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, as well as a Gold medal in 2011 and the 2015 IFMA amateur Muay Thai world champion. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. She won in 2012 the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship and in 2016 she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC World Championships. Antonina's final bout took place in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She was able to win with a majority. Antonina Shevchenko broke her first professional MMA record at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She took the win via second-round TKO and also won her subsequent two fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass the record of 3-0. Shevchenko dedicated herself to kickboxing after which she took a lengthy absence of MMA. She came back in 2017 when she faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui in a unanimous decision. She then beat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by a unanimous decision. She joined Dana White Contender Series 2018 following the departure of the league. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina displayed her power of striking by tying Nievera by knees. Following this victory Antonina was able to sign the chance to sign a UFC contract. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale with Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight after winning the first fight via unanimity. Antonina rebounded from the defeat and fought Lucie Prudilova's battle at UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler with a back naked choke submission. It was the top fight of night for that bout. Shevchenko has a record of 1-2 over her next three bouts she won over Ariane Lipski and falling to Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina was defeated by Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
